Running Mama

I had a brief running stint back in high school when I did track, and to be honest, I hated it. Once I was in college, I found myself on a beautiful campus and needing to stop the dreaded Freshman 15. I became a "casual" runner and did a few 5Ks. Once I became a mama, running was my time to myself and, at some points during Damian's battles, my therapy. I decided I couldn't sit by and let Damian suffer from two rare diseases and not do anything. I needed to find a way to raise awareness and money, so I signed up for a marathon. If he could battle, so could I. Throughout the training process I developed a new sense of self and, needless to say, a new passion for the sport. I'm not the fastest or the best. I struggle with bum knees and a jogging stroller. But I find myself loving the feel of a good long run and battling the "Wall."  I hope you enjoy reading my stories and reviews, and please feel free to share your race/running experience as well!
