This is a blog about a family and a house.

However... Let us begin with proper introductions, because anything less would just be uncivilized.

Currently there are four of us (well, 6 if you count the furry mouths that must be fed.) Two adults, two kids. You know, the perfect american dream... or something silly like that. Clearly the American dream never heard of "big Catholic families." Anyway, I'm digressing... Where were we?

 

First off, we've got Nate--the dada, main man, head hauncho, etc etc. He works out of the house to bring home the bacon so I can cook it up and serve it with a pretty bow that he claims was too expensive and unnecessary. He brews his own beer, wishes he could still bike to work, has more patience than God, and is ready to become ever more handy around the house thanks to my growing To Do list.

I'm Mary Helen. Mama, wife, runner, woman extraordinaire who apparently lacks humility and patience and a whole lot of other virtues. I like to blog, craft, run, talk about my faith, and do all those domestic-y things that makes this blog a little more mommy bloggy like.

Then there are the hellions kids. Our darling kids.

 

First came Damian in January 2011. Ohhh did he give us a run for our money, but he sure was worth it. He's a walking running miracle who often tells me "I'm funny!" (like I said, humility runs deep in this family.) Cars, sticks, and M&M cookies rank high on his list of "Must Haves."

 

Next is ma girl, Clare. She arrived at full speed in October 2013 (birth story lover? click here) She's a cuddle bug and easy peasy as long as she's getting her way (aren't we all?!) Her current loves are milk, snuggles and big brother.

So that's us.

About the blog...

After four and a half years of renting and living in Atlanta GA, we decided it was time for a change and to buy ourselves a house. We moved to Charleston, SC (because who doesn't love the beach really?) and bought a 1970s two story home. It's outdated, but the second we walked through its door I knew we had found The One. So now we're starting a new chapter--and this is that story. We're helping this little house come back to life and making it a home filled with family, love, and beauty.
